United-Kingdom.   Nationwide is arguably the most reliable source of British house price data. Various time-series can be sourced from this agency such as regional house price series, quarterly and monthly indices, inflation adjusted prices, prices by type of dwellings. Data stretch back to as early as 1952.

United-States.   OFHEO’s index is based on the average price changes of single-family properties whose mortgages are obtained from Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae. The OFHEO index covers all states. Case-Shiller’s house price index is based on prices of single-family houses in 20 major metropolitan areas, which arguably are an unusually volatile data set. Both sources use the repeat-sales methodology. FHFB’s purchase price data are based on single-family, non-farm houses on conventional mortgage.
