Residential Property Price Index; Weighted average of eight capital cities (2011-12 = 100)
Australia. There are two sources of house price time-series for Australia - the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA). The ABS releases quarterly average prices of established houses in the eight capital cities, while the REIA publishes median prices through their media press releases.

The figures are not adjusted for inflation, so may overstate house price rises (or understate declines).
Four quarter's house price changes may NOT sum to the annual (year-on-year) change in house prices, for statistical reasons.
