The Frederic Chopin International Airport, is in the district of Wlochy. Due to this, the buildings here are all low-rises. Due to its strategic location, two of Warsaw’s major roads run through this district: Jerozolimskie Avenue and Krakowska Avenue.
The airport handles half of the country’s entire air passenger traffic, with the majority of its daily international flights headed for Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London and Paris. It serves as the base of the national airline, Lot.
Wlochy has a modern recreation centre in Sierpnia Street, with arenas for professional sports such as basketball, football, tennis and volleyball. It also has its own cultural centre and two libraries.
