The barrio of Tres Ombúes, Pueblo Victoria was originally a working-class area, close to meat processing industries that flourished during the first half of the 20th century. The industrial crisis in the mid-1950s led to economic decline in the region, characterized by the closure of factories and soaring unemployment rates.

At present, while much of Tres Ombúes, Pueblo Victoria is still working-class, there are more upscale residential complexes being built here to attract people from higher economic strata.
