There are many retail establishments near the bustling square Harras, around its historic centre and the largest covered marketplace in Bavaria. Its wholesale market particularly attracts the working class. The highly popular Flaucher beer den offers traditional fare with beer after shopping. Other favourite places to relax are the little islands in the Isar River, which are good for sunbathing. �This district is also known for its Oktoberfest celebration.
Untersendling is an idyllic, green residential area, with detached houses with their own gardens. There are also some apartment buildings.
