The densely populated Nou Barris is Barcelona's third most populous district. It has a large immigrant population, and is quite a colourful neighborhood. Lacking any historic features, Nou Barri does not attract tourists, but it is a pleasant enough place to live - a suburban area. The People's University is located here.

Nou Barris has about ten markets, two shopping centers and several parks. Recently completed, its 16-hectare Parc Central de Nou Barris has refreshing lakes and waterfalls, and the pattern of its landscape is a homage to Picasso.
