Flor de Maroñas was originally an industrial district, until it was re-developed into a residential zone of small communities and housing cooperatives. A horse racetrack is in the vicinity.
Along Celiar Street is old, unoccupied La Casa del Aguila, with a stone eagle with outstretched wings as part of its sinister façade. The house is reputed to be haunted.
