The Eastern Suburbs refers to the metropolitan area east and southeast of the Sydney CBD. There are some upmarket neighbourhoods and middle-class suburbs. The northern part consists of medium- to high-density housing. The wealthiest areas here are Bellevue Hill, Vaucluse, Rose Bay, Dover Heights, Double Bay, and Woollahra.

Middle-class neighbourhoods start at Bondi Junction going south. These include Bondi, Bronte, Tamarama, Queens Park, and Clovelly. Two of Sydney’s most famous beaches are Bondi Beach and Maroubra Beach.
